Start Your Journey
Our protocol is designed to be personal and carried out sequentially. We will collaborate with you to find the right combination of treatments, order, flow and frequency. Typically, what most clients experience looks something like this:
Send us a message. If we feel you may benefit from ketamine-assisted therapy we offer a free 15-minute consultation. Once accepted as a client, we will ask for a detailed intake and history to start the process.
Come in to visit the space and meet with a therapist. This is an opportunity to ask questions, clarify aspirations, and explore reasons for seeking treatment. It is a time to discuss, and determine if this is the right fit for you. This is an important step in building trust, and developing a therapeutic alliance that feels right for you.
Clients meet with a psychiatrist. You will have the opportunity to discuss your medical history and reasons for seeking treatment. If determined to be medically safe and therapeutic, the prescriber and your therapist will develop a treatment plan. The client will pick up their prescription at a pharmacy, and bring it to Sky Medicine for each medicine session. We will request a release of information to stay in contact with the psychiatrist to monitor your care.
These sessions lay the groundwork, set the stage, and prepare for the medicine journey. This is a time to explore themes, issues, and content that is relevant to one's process. The approach is contemplative, and inner-directive. Therapy is integrative and places emphesis on the bodies innate wisdom. Typically we recommend 2-3 therapy sessions before a medicine session.
This is the experiential part of the journey. After taking the medicine, clients are encouraged to go inwards, wearing eye shades and headphones. Your therapist is there for you every step of the way, to help guide the session, and support whatever arises in your journey. Medicine sessions will alternate sequentially with integration sessions.
Integration allows clients to internalize insight gained from their psychedelic journey. Therapy is often somatic in nature, using modalities that help bring the experience into the present. Some clients benefit from a longer integration period over a few weeks or even longer before going on to the next medicine session. The pacing and frequency between sessions is a collaborative process between you and your therapist.
Send us a message and we will help you find the best treatment options to meet your needs.
